Henri Nouwen Quote
(Spiritual Direction: Wisdom for the long walk home).
Spiritual Direction, also known as spiritual companionship, offers a supportive space to explore your faith, spiritual journey, and relationship with God.
It’s not about an agenda for your life, but letting God come and be alive within us.
A key idea in spiritual direction is that God, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is always drawing us closer.
God is the real director at work in our daily lives. Spiritual direction helps us notice this, giving us time to pause, reflect, and respond.
It lets you grow and deepen your spirituality at your own pace, with gentle guidance.
Spiritual direction sessions usually happen every 6 to 8 weeks and last about an hour. You can meet during retreats or set up regular sessions throughout the year.
Clarifying Spiritual Direction
At the core of spiritual direction is the question:
Who is God for me, and who am I for God?
Three areas can be explored:
What is happening in times of prayer
Awareness of God in daily life, in everyday things
My calling to be me, and God’s vision for me
